Another Satisfied Customer

Posted by | DGR News | No Comments

One of our customers sent us the following in follow-up to using us for an out of state service. We work hard to go above and beyond for our clients, so it’s always pleasant to receive comments like the below.

“I have been in practice for over 17 years and have used many service companies. I needed out-of-state service and contacted DGR to help me with a particular matter. DGR was highly professional by immediately assigning me a customer service representative, completing service, quickly returning my calls, and providing me with electronic mail updates during each step of the service process. I would highly recommend DGR to anyone who asked for a referral.”

− Matthew F. Lupardo, Esq.

DGR Owners, Jerry & Debbie Colasurdo, Receive Patriot Award

Posted by | DGR News | No Comments

On November 5th, 2014 the owners of DGR, Jerry and Debbie Colasurdo, proudly received the Patriot Award. Given to supervisors and bosses for their support to Service members and their family, recipients of the award must be nominated by a Service member or their family.

Debbie and Jerry were nominated by DGR employee Angela Richardson for their support of her husband Chris, who also works at DGR and also for their support of the entire Richardson family.  Chris recently served a tour of duty in Afghanistan. An E6 Staff Sergeant, this was 9 month tour was Chris’ second. His first was an 18 month tour from 2004-2005 in Iraq.  “We can’t thank them enough for what they have done for us”, said Angela. “There is nothing they wouldn’t do for my family in my time of need and I just wanted to say thank you.”

Receiving the Patriot Award

Members of the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR) came to the DGR office to surprise the Colasurdos with their award. After Jerry and Debbie accepted the Patriot Award (which now hangs proudly in the front entrance to DGR), ESGR announced they had one more award to give. Since Angela wanted to recognize the whole company for their kindness while Chris was overseas, sending care packages and providing support, ESGR provided them with an award as well. With the Patriot Award being reserved for employers and supervisors, the “Above and Beyond” award was given to DGR as a whole.

Everyone at DGR truly appreciated hearing just how much it all meant to Angela, Chris and their sons. But at the end of the day it is still us who would like to say thank you. We cannot put into words our appreciation for all Chris and his family have done for our country – thank you!

DGR Ranked One of the Top Process Servers on Twitter

Posted by | DGR News | No Comments

process server on Twitter

That’s us! We made it to #3 on ServeNow’s list of Top Process Servers on Twitter.

While we’re SO happy to have been ranked #3, we’re also excited to see the participation levels of those who made the list. Process service as an industry has been a little slower than others in getting on the social media wagon. To see people across the country interacting and sharing information, opinions and news is amazing.

In a digital age this is one of the best ways to share relevant, current information and this applies to process service in the same way it does to any industry. Whether in New Jersey, California, or Florida, all process servers can benefit from a community.

If you’re not on Twitter I’d recommend getting on there. Feel free to sit back and read what’s going on and then jump in with your thoughts. While the power of Twitter may not be immediately recognized, you’ll quickly realize the value of being able to follow and connect with individuals who discuss topics that are of interest to you and your business.

Outside of Twitter there are other social networks to take advantage of as well. Check out a post we did a while back on process server groups and forums to see what else is out there.

Congratulations to everyone who made the list! Keep up the great tweets.

Wine Tasting for a Cause

Posted by | DGR News | No Comments

On September 15th DGR had the honor to support the Samaritan Inn at another one of their fun annual fund-raising events: the Grape Expectations Wine Tasting at the Lake Mohawk Country Club.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Samaritan Inn, they provide “emergency food and temporary shelter to homeless families in Sussex County as well as a program of counseling and skill building in family maintenance and growth. “ The people who run this organization have some of the biggest hearts we’ve ever come across and their hard work has created a successful organization that provides help to very grateful families.

This year’s event included a combination of a silent auction and regular auction, with more than 75 items being auctioned off including tvs, iPads, artwork, a trip to Costa Rica and Yankees tickets. Our employees took home some great items but also were able to support the Samaritan Inn and their cause while doing so.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!

Celebrating Bob’s 20th Anniversary with DGR

Posted by | DGR News | No Comments

Yesterday we had the honor of celebrating Bob Cifelli’s 20th anniversary with DGR. While many of our employees stay with the company and become like family, the feeling of celebrating these anniversaries never changes.  We all enjoy what we do here but a big part of it is the people we work with day in and day out – we couldn’t ask for a better set of employees.

Bob first began with DGR back in 1993 and since then has assisted DGR in its expansion, initially handling both dispatch and litigation work and then overseeing just litigation as the department grew.

Outside of the office Bob has many hobbies and passions.  At the top of the list is baseball and softball, with his favorite team being the Yankees.  He’s played on as many as four teams at one and was DGR’s captain of our softball team this past year, bringing us into the semi-finals! Every summer Bob travels to Cooperstown to participate in their tournament.

Bob has also coached softball for his daughter Samantha’s team, who is currently a junior in high school.  Bob’s son Louis also works at DGR in the due diligence department and his wife Leslie works in Boston.

When the weather becomes too cold to play baseball or softball, Bob keeps himself busy with home improvement projects.  Another pastime of Bob’s is watching old movies (his favorite movie is Field of Dreams).  He and his friends will get together at his place and watch movies from as far back as 1940.  In the area of entertainment Bob also really likes Bruce Springsteen and he’s seen him play live 6 or 7 times!  His favorite song by him is Human Touch.

We don’t know what we would do without Bob. Coming in early, staying late and going above and beyond to help our clients are just part of what he does for us. He’s always willing to go the extra mile and keeps track of all our litigation services, making sure all of them are served correctly and efficiently – which all process servers know requires some serious skill!

Thank you Bob for 20 years with DGR. We’re looking forward to even more!

DGR Wins New Jersey Law Journal’s “Best of” Award

Posted by | Courier Service, DGR News, Messenger Service | No Comments

We’re happy to announce DGR was recently named a winner of the New Jersey Law Journal’s first annual “Best Of’ Award for 2012 for both Process Service and Courier Service.  Hundreds of law firm professionals including attorneys, paralegals and office administrators voted for their top choices around the state for numerous categories of legal service providers.

“We are so proud to have been chosen by the legal community for this award in two categories.  The underlying foundation of our business philosophy is customer satisfaction and it seems we have hit the mark” says Jerry Colasurdo, owner of DGR.

With all employees versus independent contractors which much of the industry utilizes, DGR is able to maintain strict quality control and execute specific client instructions for services and deliveries. “Our staff works very hard and receives continuous training in order to ensure the highest level of expertise and service. We will continue to offer the same level of service our clients have come to expect and depend on over the past 32 years,” adds Jerry.

Thank you so much to everyone who voted!

Epilepsy Walk: A Success

Posted by | DGR News | No Comments

Saturday March 31st was the National Walk for Epilepsy on the Washington Mall.  DGR takes part in this every year, as Jerry and Debbie’s daughter has lived with epilepsy for over 11 years.  All the proceeds for the walk go to fight stigma, raise awareness and find a cure for epilepsy.

This year Team DGR raised $2,845! We couldn’t be more grateful to those who helped us far exceed our fundraising goal and who have contributed to the Epilepsy Foundation.

With a gorgeous day and clear sky (unlike what everyone back in Jersey had!) it turned out to be perfect weather for the walk, which was a little over 2 miles.

Check out pictures from the walk:
