New York Process Servers Deemed Essential

New York process servers deemed "essential"

On March 22, 2020 Jason Tallman, President of New York State Professional Process Servers Association, reached out to New York State’s Empire State Development office to determine if process servers and process service agencies are considered “essential business” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yesterday, March 25, 2020, Jason received a response from Zach Becker, Economic Development Program Specialist III with Empire State Development. The Empire State Developments legal team has deemed process servers/agencies to be “essential business”, which means service can continue to be effectuated in this state unlike previous interpretation had determined.

We will keep you updated as we receive information regarding service in other states. DGR Legal continues to be fully operational and will continue to complete service where it is not restricted by State or Federal order.
